A five-day school trip
Our Isle of Wight Adventure
Olivia's final-year school trip with Scargill School — five days exploring England's largest island, from its beaches and cliffs to its castles and coastline. Follow along day by day through our photos, stories and the interesting things we discovered along the way.
About the trip
This is Olivia Till's photo diary of a five-day school trip to the Isle of Wight — England's largest island, just off the south coast. From an early Monday-morning bus and a chilly ferry crossing, the week was packed with adventures: cheeky monkeys and wise owls at Monkey Haven, a hot climb up Tennyson Down to the Needles and its coloured sands, a fossil hunt along the shore (with a couple of accidental dips in the sea!), the rides and mazes of Blackgang Chine, and a final day aboard Admiral Nelson's HMS Victory before the long journey home.
Each day below is told as its own sea shanty, with a photo collage and a "Something Interesting" fact about the places we visited. Pick a day to dive in.
